MatchHub, our table tennis scoring app, is now on the App Store. It runs on iPhone, with a companion app for Apple Watch.
Doubles is the part we most wanted to get right. The serving order and the court positions change from game to game, and a match tends to stop while everyone works out whose serve it is. MatchHub marks the current server and receiver beside the players’ names, and moves the rotation on by itself — every two points, and every point once the score reaches 10-10.
Scoring is a swipe: up on the number to add a point, down to take one back. The board is a large landscape flip scoreboard. Points can be entered from Apple Watch as well (the Apple Watch app is used together with the iPhone app).
The app is free. There is no account to create and no sign-in, and match records are kept on the device. A short manual is built into the app.
This is version 1.0. If you try it, we would be glad to hear what you make of it — we intend to keep building on it.
