1.1.4 The server and receiver stay shown after the game-winning point15 October 2026

MatchHub has been updated to 1.1.4.

Right after the point that decides a game (11-9 or 12-10, for example), the server ([S]) and receiver ([R]) now stay as they were in the last rally. When you move on to the next game, they change to the next server and receiver (in doubles, after you choose the next server).

This works the same in singles, doubles and on Apple Watch.

1.1.3 Larger score numbers on the scoreboard13 October 2026

MatchHub has been updated to 1.1.3. The scoreboard has been refreshed so the numbers are larger and easier to read.

■ Larger score numbers

Score numbers are larger, and one- and two-digit scores now line up at the same height. The score cards are wider as well.

■ Game count on top, next-game button below

The game count stays pinned at the top, with the next-game button right below it, so nothing moves when a game ends.

■ No more repeated screen rotation

The screen no longer rotates back and forth when you go Home or to Settings from the in-game menu.

■ Larger numbers on Apple Watch

On Apple Watch, the score numbers are larger and easier to read.

1.1.2 Export only the matches you have filtered29 September 2026

MatchHub has been updated to 1.1.2. You can now export just the matches you have filtered, and change the Flip speed from the Settings screen as well. This release also fixes one issue.

■ Export only the matches you have filtered

Filter the history by period, tournament or number of games, then choose “Export filtered matches” from the menu at the top right of the history screen.

■ Flip speed from the Settings screen

The speed at which the scoreboard numbers flip can now also be changed from the Settings screen.

■ Fix

• The saved-match count on the Home screen did not update right after you deleted or imported matches

1.1.1 Fixes, and removing saved players one at a time23 September 2026

MatchHub has been updated to 1.1.1. This release fixes a number of issues and lets you remove saved players one at a time. It also brings banner ads to the settings and history screens.

■ Saved players can be removed one at a time

Until now there was no way to remove a single name from the list. You can now delete names you no longer need, one by one, from the screen where you pick a player.

■ Fixes

• The Flip speed you set in Display went back to its default when you reopened the app
• The Tournament and Venue entered before a match were not saved in the history
• In the point history and match details, the last dots of a game could be cut off
• The player profile editor could show the wrong name in its heading
• The doubles placeholder names A-1 to B-2 were added to your saved players (names already added are removed automatically)

■ About the ads

Banner ads appear on the settings screen and the history screen. No ads are shown on the scoreboard during a match, and none on Apple Watch.

“Ads” on the settings screen explains what the ads use. If you choose not to allow tracking when iOS asks, the app works exactly as before.

1.1 The screens are now available in English22 September 2026

MatchHub has been updated to 1.1. The app can now be shown in English.

■ English is now available alongside Japanese

On a device set to a language other than Japanese, the screens, the messages and the Quick Guide appear in English. On a Japanese device, the app stays in Japanese as before.

The score call was already available in English, and the screens can now match it.

■ “言語 / Language” in Settings

It opens iPhone Settings, where you can switch between English and Japanese.

1.0.3 A clearer screen for choosing the next server in doubles16 September 2026

MatchHub has been updated to 1.0.3. The main change is the screen where a doubles pair chooses the server for the next game.

You pick only the server. The receiver follows from the rules, and each button shows who it would be.

■ The screen for choosing the next server is easier to read

The heading is larger and the two candidates now sit side by side. Each button shows, by name, the receiver you would get by choosing that player.

When player profiles are on, the button now shows the player’s name in large type with the traits underneath. Up to 1.0.2 only the traits were shown.

■ The match notes now show the first server the same way

The name is no longer pushed aside by the traits.

■ The landscape scoreboard was cut off on some models

On iPhone SE, mini and iPhone 16 and other models with a narrow short edge, names and buttons were being clipped. This is fixed.

1.0.2 Receiver display in doubles, and a choice of call language10 September 2026

MatchHub has been updated to 1.0.2, and there is now a one-minute look at the app on YouTube.

It runs through what the app does before, during and after a match.

■ In doubles, the receiver now follows the server you pick

Under the rules of table tennis, the first receiver of a doubles game is the player who served to that person in the previous game — so the receiver depends on which of the pair takes the serve. Up to 1.0.1 the app settled the receiver before the server was chosen, so for one of the two choices the display did not match the rule.

From 1.0.2 each of the two options shows the receiver you would get by choosing it. The outcome is on screen before you tap, so there is nothing to re-check afterwards.

■ The call can be Japanese or English

With Japanese selected, game start, change of ends and the end of the match are called in Japanese as well as the points.

The call can be set to off, points only, or points and serving order. It sounds even when the phone is on silent (the ringer setting is untouched), which matters in a gym, where phones tend to stay silenced.

1.0.1 Support for iOS 17 and later, and a 30-match history7 September 2026

MatchHub has been updated to 1.0.1. The main change is that it now runs on a wider range of devices — iOS 17 and later.

Version 1.0 was published with iOS 26 set as the minimum requirement, so it could not be installed on iOS 17 or 18. From 1.0.1 it runs on iOS 17 and later, with the Apple Watch app on watchOS 10 and later.

We also fixed the match history limit. Both the app and the App Store description said 30 matches, but the app kept only 20 and dropped the oldest ones. From 1.0.1 it keeps 30, as described.

One wording change goes with it. The description used to say a downward swipe cancels a point; it now says it takes one point back from that side, which is what actually happens.

1.0 (release) Released on the App Store5 September 2026

MatchHub, our table tennis scoring app, is now on the App Store. It runs on iPhone, with a companion app for Apple Watch.

Doubles is the part we most wanted to get right. The serving order and the court positions change from game to game, and a match tends to stop while everyone works out whose serve it is. MatchHub marks the current server and receiver beside the players’ names, and moves the rotation on by itself — every two points, and every point once the score reaches 10-10.

Scoring is a swipe: up on the number to add a point, down to take one back. The board is a large landscape flip scoreboard. Points can be entered from Apple Watch as well (the Apple Watch app is used together with the iPhone app).

The app is free. There is no account to create and no sign-in, and match records are kept on the device. A short manual is built into the app.
