What this app does
As well as the large score, the board shows the games won, the server, the receiver and when to change ends.
Score from your wrist and it syncs to the iPhone. It stays easy to use in practice matches and multi-ball drills.
Names, the doubles server and receiver, and the score call all switch with the match type.
Results and how the points went are kept in the history, and can be exported and imported.
Starting a match
Tap New match on the home screen
That takes you from the home screen to the settings screen. If a match is paused, you can resume it instead.
Set up the match on the settings screen
Choose singles or doubles, the number of games and the player names. You can also set the English name used by the score call, and the player profiles.
Tap Start match
The scoreboard opens and you can start scoring. In doubles it helps to settle which pair serves, and who serves and receives, before you start.
During the match
Swipe the large number on either side up to add a point. Swipe down to take one point off that side. The small numbers in the middle show the games won.
The ↔︎ button in the middle swaps the two sides. You can also have the app swap them at every game.
When a game or a match ends, a copy button appears next to the losing score. Tap it and only the numbers go to the clipboard. Tournament systems that fill in the winning score once you enter the loser’s take the numbers as they are.
During a match the menu holds Settings, Go home, Point history, Resync Apple Watch and Speech.
Using Apple Watch
Swipe up or down to score
On Apple Watch you can add a point or take one off quickly. The score syncs to the iPhone.
Swipe sideways for the hint screen
The hint screen shows the current server and receiver, and can read the server aloud.
If it is slow to update
Try Resync Apple Watch from the menu on the iPhone. Bringing the app on Apple Watch to the front and waiting a few seconds also helps.
History and saving
Tap Match history on the home screen to see the matches you have saved.
Up to 30 matches are kept on the device. Delete the ones you do not need, or export them first and then tidy up.
The match history and the saved players can be exported and imported as JSON.
The call can be set to Off, Score, or Score + serve. The language, the voice and the speed are on the settings screen and in the menu during a match.
If something goes wrong
The score on Apple Watch does not reach the iPhone
Open the menu on the iPhone during the match and try Resync Apple Watch. Bringing the app on Apple Watch to the front, or closing and opening it again, also helps.
There is no room to save a match
Delete matches you do not need from the history screen, or export them first and then tidy up. The settings screen shows how many are saved.
A name is not read the way I expect
Edit the English name on the settings screen. The name shown on the board and the name used by the call are kept separately.
Can I stop a match and come back to it?
Use Go home and the match is kept as paused. You can resume it from the home screen.
