September to Early October Update Summary Released

MatchHub

Here is a summary of what has changed at CuViu from September to the first half of October. MatchHub, our table tennis scoring app for iPhone and Apple Watch, went live on the App Store on September 5. It was updated six times in September (1.0.1 to 1.1.2) and received version 1.1.3 on October 13. Scorebook by CuViu, our free baseball scorebook that runs in the browser (in Japanese), was also updated many times, from version 0.4.10 to 0.4.56.

■ MatchHub, update by update

• 1.0.1 (Sep 7): Wider device support — MatchHub now runs on iOS 17 and later. The match history now keeps up to 30 matches, as the app description says.
• 1.0.2 (Sep 10): In doubles, the next game shows who would receive for each possible server, before you choose. Voice calls can be set to Japanese or English. A one-minute tour of the app is on YouTube.
• 1.0.3 (Sep 16): A clearer screen for choosing the next server, and a fix for names and buttons being cut off on devices with a short screen.
• 1.1 (Sep 22): The screens, messages and quick manual can now be shown in English.
• 1.1.1 (Sep 23): Registered players can be deleted one by one, and several issues were fixed. Ads now appear on the Settings and History screens (not on the in-game scoreboard or on Apple Watch).
• 1.1.2 (Sep 29): You can export only the matches you have filtered, and change the speed at which the score numbers flip (“Flip speed”) from the Settings screen.
• 1.1.3 (Oct 13): Score numbers are larger, and one- and two-digit scores line up at the same height. Score cards are wider, the game count stays pinned at the top with the next-game button below it, the screen no longer rotates back and forth when you go Home or to Settings from the in-game menu, and the score numbers on Apple Watch are larger.

■ Scorebook by CuViu (baseball, runs in the browser, Japanese only)

The main changes since September:

• Substitutions and position changes can be recorded on one screen (Sep 10), and the previous lineup can be loaded after you confirm it (Sep 12).
• The way a runner put out by a tag is written was changed to the form in the reference examples, such as 2-4T (Sep 23). A detailed manual was published (Sep 30).
• In the Waseda style, the red slash is used only for hits, errors are marked with a blue “E”, and the text inside each box is larger (Oct 11–12).
• The Keio style now follows the figures in the official NPB scorekeeping guide, and RBIs are filled in automatically from the result, and you can now also write at which pitch a wild pitch or a stolen base happened (Oct 12). You can also choose the type of batted ball (ground ball, fly ball or line drive), the base cover and the direction of a bad throw (Oct 12–13). The ground-ball mark in the Waseda style is now drawn above the number, as in the figures of the Nagasaki High School Baseball Federation (Oct 13).
